Beloved seekers:

Get your Viagra for the spirits right here.

Get your Viagra for the spirits right here.

Things can get dreary in times of economic, planetary, or personal disaster, as we know from reading all the newspapers that are going out of business. Despite the cheerful expression you see in my youthful cartoon persona above, Cemetery Mary, too, is occasionally seized by the what-the-hell-is-the-point, crabby-ass thought patterns that fuel her brain’s hamster wheel of worry and doubt. In order to thwart these dark voices of doom that enjoy too much attention, I offer these Antidepressposts to amuse myself and others needing distractions that won’t cause credit card debt, weight gain, loss in sobriety, or needless break-ups. In pharmacological terms, think of this blog as Viagra for the spirits.

images1Did you forget to save and invest? Good advice for current economy…Stolen from the beloved Leah Garchik Column in the still publishing S.F. Chronicle

“Regan McMahon nabbed this (herein abridged) from the Net: ‘If you’d bought $1,000 worth of Delta Airlines shares a year ago, you’d have $49 today. If you’d bought $1,000 worth of AIG shares, you’d have $33. If you’d bought $1,000 in Lehman Brothers shares, you’d have nothing. But if you’d purchased $1,000 worth of beer a year ago, drank it all, then turned in the aluminum cans for a recycling refund, you’d have $214. … The best current investment plan is to drink heavily and recycle. It’s called the 401-Keg.’”
